Drawing by Rubbing & Rubbing Out
10 & 11 December
Addition and subtraction in drawing means taking rubbings from boards prepared by the tutor (or anything textured you have or can find), and then erasing to reveal an image or design instead of drawing it. This is the surrealist technique known as frottage/. It's a very slow organic and satisfying process which creates fascinating results.
