What Tools & Equipment is Available
There are 16 individual benches, 3 soldering stations, 2 foredom benches, a drill press, a polishing motor, a pickle & rotary tumbler, a rolling mill, a variety of hand tools. Plus tea and coffee making facilities and lockers
How long can I rent the space for?
We offer flexible rental options to suit your needs. Depending on the scale of your project and how long you'd like to use the space you can easily rent the space for a week, a month or longer. Just let us know your preferred time frame when you register your interest
What are the available hours of use?
There are 16 benches in the studio and it is available for use 9am-9pm weekdays and 9am - 6pm on weekends, exlcuding public holidays
I am a beginner, can I rent a space?
While we don't require you to be a master jeweller, the Rent-a-Bench program is best suited for those who already have some working knowledge of jewellery making. You’ll be working independently, so basic familiarity with tools and techniques is recommended. And you will be required to show your skill level plus go through a full safety training before being able to use the studio
How do I apply?
It’s easy! Just fill out the form on this page to register your interest, and we’ll contact you with a simple application form, bench availability and rental options.
The application process is pretty straight forward. First step is to complete the application form we'll send you and once you have been accepted you will complete a hire agreement and attend a short access and safety training on site. Just click the link above to start the process.
Benches are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait to reserve your spot
Where is the studio located
The Studio is located at 182 Eastern Hutt Road, Lower Hutt within The Learning Connexion campus. As a rent a bench user you will have your own swipe card and dedicated access to the studio for all the available hours it can be used so you can come and go as you desire.
