Description

Our Beginner's Drawing evening course will teach you how to draw!

This class will guide you to find your own unique drawing style as you bring your pictures to life

Think of learning to draw like learning a new language - each line and shade is like a word, and as you learn more, you become fluent in expressing yourself visually

What You Will Learn

Week 1: Starting with the Basics

Kick off developing your drawing skills using graphite and charcoal. These foundational tools will help you grasp the essential techniques of line drawing and shading, setting the stage for more complex creations.

Week 2: Adding Depth and Dimension

Now that you've got the basics down, it's time to dive deeper. This week, you'll learn to enhance your drawings with tonal still life techniques, adding shadows and highlights to bring your work to life.

Week 3: Exploring Perspectives

Expand your skills by tackling more detailed images. We'll focus on perspective and angles, crucial tools for drawing realistic scenes and objects, giving your artwork a sense of depth and realism.

Week 4: Introducing Color

Add a splash of colour to your work with soft pastels. This week is all about experimenting with color to express mood, atmosphere, and texture in your drawings.

Week 5: Combining Techniques

Put all your skills to the test! Using acrylic paints, you'll combine everything you've learned to create a comprehensive, finished piece that showcases your growing mastery of drawing.

Weeks 6 & 7: Independent Projects

With the basics well in hand, these final weeks are your chance to express yourself freely. Choose your favorite mediums and subjects to create individual projects that reflect your personal style and interests.

This structured approach ensures you build a solid foundation in drawing, then gradually advance to more complex techniques and mediums, resulting in the freedom to explore your own artistic expressions.
