By the end of this workshop, you'll have created at least one finished animal portrait, and potentially as many as four, depending on your pace and chosen level of detail
Capture the essence of your pet or a favourite animal and bring it to life in your portrait
Whether you're doing a creativity class for the first time or you have some knowledge, this workshop is designed to guide you enhance your skills with observational drawing and the use of soft pastels.

Alina Gane-Hurcomb
Alina is a mid-career visual artist based in the Hutt Valley, known for her captivating blend of realism and impressionistic elements. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including a notable showing at the Louvre, where it resonated with diverse audiences.
An experienced tutor at the Learning Connexion, she nurtures the next generation of artists while drawing inspiration from music, world events, historical architecture, animals, and feminism.
Her art not only reflects her surroundings but also engages with broader themes, inviting viewers to explore the intricate connections between the personal and the universal.
