Join us for a fun and relaxed, beginner-friendly Botanical Gelli Printing class where you’ll explore a range of creative techniques and discover just how versatile this playful process can be. You’ll be guided through different ways to use the plate, giving you plenty of space to experiment and achieve the unexpected results that make Gelli Printing so enjoyable. You’ll finish by turning your explorations into a lively collage to take home.

What You'll Learn:
In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of printing with Gelli plates and experiment with a variety of creative techniques. You will explore how to build texture using everyday found objects, create delicate botanical prints with natural materials, and add expressive details through mark making with paint pens. You will also have the opportunity to play with layered printing, using stencils and masks to build depth, colour, and complexity in your compositions.
What You'll Take Home:
A completed final collage incorporating your favourite prints, arranged pieces and composition experiments.

Meet your Tutor:
Alayna is an intuitive, curiosity-driven artist who brings the same spirit of exploration to her Gelli Plate classes. Inspired by the world around her and the small, meaningful moments shared with others, she approaches printmaking with openness and play, allowing marks, layers and colours to unfold naturally. In her workshops, Alayna encourages students to create without pressure, follow what feels right and enjoy the unexpected discoveries that emerge along the way.
What to Bring:
- Acrylic paint - White and a selection of colours (Reeves and Liquitex Basics are the best for this process)
- Scissors

- A collection of natural and found items
- Tissue paper
- Boards
- Glazing medium
- Stencils
- Gelli plates
- Paint pens
- Copy paper
Can Anyone Do This Class?
Yes! This workshop is suitable for all levels, and absolutely beginner-friendly. If you love being creative, you’ll fit right in.
