About Your Tutor:
Ashwini is a Zentangle artist and Certified Zentangle Teacher based in Wellington. She discovered the Zentangle method in 2016 through a simple introductory workshop, and it quickly transformed the way she approached drawing. What began as a small creative experiment became a grounding practice that helped her reconnect with art during a busy time in life. Using just pen, paper, and slow, deliberate strokes, Ashwini enjoys the calm focus and quiet rhythm that Zentangle brings to the creative process.
After years of developing her practice and creating Zentangle-inspired artworks, Ashwini completed her Certified Zentangle Teacher training in 2024. She now shares the method with others through workshops and classes, guiding students to experience the same sense of calm, creativity, and confidence she found in the practice. She has taught more than 30 students across her home studio, the Karori Arts Centre, and the Pukerua Bay Hub, helping each participant discover the joy of drawing one line at a time.
“Ashwini was fantastic, guiding us step by step through this incredible journey into the world of Zentangle. The techniques were both fun and relaxing, and the way everything was taught made it easy to understand and follow along.”
