Join Stacey Fraser-Allen for a relaxed and creative watercolour workshop celebrating Wellington’s unique architecture. Using pre-drawn line artwork by Stacey, printed on quality watercolour paper, participants will paint a beautiful Wellington landmark while learning simple and effective watercolour techniques.

Throughout the session, Stacey will guide the group through washes, layering colour, and creating depth in architectural scenes. The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone looking to enjoy a creative and social experience.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will take home their own finished painting of a Wellington building.

What You'll Learn:

Participants will learn a relaxed, step-by-step approach to watercolour painting using pre-drawn architectural artwork, covering techniques such as washes, layering, texture, colour mixing, and using light and shadow to create depth and atmosphere. The workshop also focuses on building creative confidence, experimenting with personal style, and adding finishing touches to create artwork suitable for framing.

What You'll Take Home:

After the course you will emerge confident using watercolours and have a foundational understanding of how to approach painting architectural subjects.

You will take home a finished watercolour painting of a wellington building and personalised artwork suitable for framing or gifting.

About Your Tutor:

Stacey Fraser-Allen is a Wellington-based ink and watercolour artist and creator of Brick and Water.

““Growing up in suburban Wales, I was struck by the colourful variety and playful vibrancy of New Zealand architecture when I emigrated to Wellington over eleven years ago. After completing my degree in business, I found a passion for watercolours and paired that with my love of New Zealand’s urban landscapes. I began creating personalised art pieces for whanau and friends and decided to refine the process following interest from other clients. Since then I have continued to specialise in capturing client’s homes, iconic landmarks and commercial businesses. My work aims to celebrate communities and endeavours to immortalise the memories that buildings hold”.
